Trying to get pregnant can be a very exciting time for you and your partner, especially if you have been planning on it for a while. But there are times when couples end up getting discouraged after trying for a while and then realize something is not right with either of them. However, there are some people who try for years and finally get lucky
What is going wrong?
It doesn’t necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with either of you. You can try to make a few changes in your life to increase the chances:
● You should consume vitamins and minerals which work as antioxidants and help boost your overall immunity
● Both of you should drink a lot more water to flush out toxins and keep you hydrated so that you can try at least a few times a week.
● Monitor your menstrual cycles and identify the ovulation phase
If this still doesn’t work for you then you might consider seeing a specialist but when should you see one?
You should see one:
- If you two have been trying for more than 6 months and the woman is over 35 years of age- They say as women reach their mid-thirties it becomes much harder to conceive. The number of eggs she produces decreases and so also the quality, this causes a higher chance of infertility or miscarriages later.
- If you and your partner have had several miscarriages- You definitely need to see a specialist because there is possibly an issue with the embryo production or some uterine abnormalities or possibly genetic reason.
- If the woman who has had pelvic surgery- Some women who have had pelvic surgery or any abdomen surgery end up with scar tissues near the pelvic region and this causes a blockage near the fallopian tubes. If there is also any surgery of the ovaries this can end up harming the eggs within the ovaries.
- If the man has a low sperm count or low sperm mobility- It is important for him to get tested and he should visit an andrologist. Thereafter visit a fertility specialist to introduce agents to bring on fertility.
- If you have a reproduction issue that is known- The most common issue that women face nowadays is PCOS and most of the time women who have this issue aren’t ovulating so it is very important that you visit a specialist 10-12 months in advance just so that you can get a jump start with some medicines. If you have any other issues that may affect your fallopian tubes it depends on the severity, do a medical checkup as soon as possible.
- If you have strange symptoms- If you are having pelvic pain, pain in the lower abdomen, irregular periods or a complete absence of periods, don’t take it lightly, visit a specialist as soon as possible.
- If your mother or sister went through menopause early- If this has happened in your family and they went through menopause before 40, you might be having fertility issues as well. Take a blood test and ultrasound to see how well your eggs are doing.
- If you have a thyroid issue- your hormones and thyroid are linked, so if you are having an issue with your thyroid it’s more than likely that you are having an issue with conceiving or you are having fertility issues. It should be regulated and taken care of with medicines.
If there are issues that can be taken care of, you should visit a specialist as soon as possible. If there are any issues that you and your partner might be facing, it is important that you address them as soon as possible and take any necessary treatments to solve the issues so that you get the opportunity to bring a beautiful baby into this world.
