There are a number of fertility preservation options available for women. This includes embryo
freezing, and now there are also options for egg freezing and freezing of
ovarian tissues available. Egg freezing can be considered if you are told that
your fertility can be at risk due to some of the serious illnesses like cancer
or any other disease requiring chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Egg
Freezing is a medical method that is used for storing the unfertilized egg of
women. To have the eggs for being frozen, women are given hormonal stimulation
for approximately ten days. These frozen eggs can be preserved for years and
there is no significant deterioration. When a woman is ready to get pregnant
the eggs are thawed, then these eggs are fertilized with the partner’s sperm. The
objective is to develop an embryo that can be then transferred to the uterus of
the woman and providing pregnancy probabilities.
